Many residents of Hanson Harbor have been seeking ways to support victims of the fires that surround our community. Special thanks to Haley Morris for tracking down the official monetary donation page linked below:
The Cedar Fund of the Colville Indian Reservation has established the Colville Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund to provide direct assistance to individuals, families, and communities impacted by recent wildfires on the Colville Indian Reservation.
Donations will help meet immediate needsโincluding emergency shelter, food, clothing, household essentials, and other critical supportโwhile also assisting families as they begin the long process of rebuilding their homes, restoring their lives, and strengthening their communities.
Every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can stand with our neighbors, honor our shared responsibility to one another, and help the people of the Colville Indian Reservation recover with dignity, resilience, and hope.
In addition to financial contributions, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation are also encouraging members of the public to donate various items to support those impacted by the wildfires.
Two donation drop-off locations have been opened at the Omak Eagles Nest, located at 1168 Bull Rope Street in Omak, and the Colville Service Center, located at 3041 State Highway 155 in Coulee Dam.
Questions about the Omak location can be directed to Leah Cate at 509-634-1409, while questions about the Coulee Dam location can be directed to Desiree Hertenstein at 509-634-1963.
Donations will be accepted daily at both locations from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Officials noted that the most needed items include bedding, clothing, baby supplies, personal hygiene items, as well as pet and livestock supplies.
